“Ode to Joy”

Joy falls

everywhere like crumbs

- into cracks and into crevices,

into corners and into chasms,

until it is forgotten -

or simply buried

between the hard places and the sad,

between

the sweetness of days

and the heaviness of years,

between the twilights and the sunsets

and the moonrises and the rain-

Until it grows,

unbidden... unwatered... untended...

like a weed

that turns

unexpectedly

into a flower. cjc

A garden of JOY, how wonderful. Still journaling away on the 100 days of wonder prompts. It has become a little ritual. Whenever I feel the need to open the journal (each page pre-marked with a word from the 100 days list), I read the word, close my eyes, take a deep breath and then allow the ink to flow and my soul to write. Surprising myself what deep insights I get. Looking forward to add the garden of JOY to the practice. Thank you.
