We have a unique place here in Ephrata Pennsylvania called Art of Recycle. It’s a place to donate supplies, fabric, just about anything that somebody else might use to be creative. There is a whole building of free items for teachers and community service agencies, as well as a store for the rest of us to buy supplies after being inspired by the variety. They also have something called the craft castle complete with a pirate ship, tables and oodles of supplies to just sit down and create. It’s a wonderful place to meet people and be inspired.

First is the library. But then I realized that there are so many places I love to visit and am often inspired by:

churches, parks, art galleries, museums, thrift stores, farmers' markets, theatres - to name just a few.

My first thought was the local bookstore. I love to browse the creative magazines for inspiration. However, my favorite place to find peace and inspiration is on the beach, East Beach in Rhode Island and Owen Beach on the Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA. They are both beautiful beaches for walking and exploring nature. I’ll often see the seals swim along the beach in WA and spot a bald eagle or two catching their dinner. In RI it’s watching the colorful sunsets and finding smooth white rocks that have been tumbled by the ocean waves.

Earlier this evening I met friends at a local brewery where there was a Mardi Gras style brass band playing which was fun! It had a family vibe where lots of young families go and the children have fun listening and dancing to the music. My children are grown but it made me happy that places like that exist today. In the summertime it’s the free concerts in the park. People of all ages gather to listen to the music or catch up with friends and bring a picnic dinner to enjoy under the stars.

That sounds like a little patch of heaven Shawna! And I love that you have 2 bicoastal beaches! So perfect. Gosh, you make me want to head out to the beach near me before it gets too hot!

We’re currently enjoying a beach camp with several other interesting women. We, and others, are in a cabin, but some also have tents or vans.

This is our first time here. We come from far and wide, across NSW and VIC, in Australia, but have made many new friends and have shared many enjoyable conversations. We’ll see each other in a year’s time.

It’s been just lovely.

I live in a really popular city on a river, there’s a lot of music and art here. I do spend a lot of time on the river though, weather permitting, it’s always inspiring, yet I can find inspiration anywhere. I take a lot of day trips to new places not only in my state but my neighboring states, so many places to explore.

Joan you are encouraging ME to get out more and find the gems near me. To take as I like to say, a wonder wander. ☺️

For years it was my local yarn store where we would all meet once a week for tea and knitting. It evolved over the years, changing spaces as businesses

Closed and moved. Now it’s become my studio. The building g houses over 20 artists so we meet chat about what’s going on in our lives, our art, offer inspiration, share happenings and sometimes collaborate on work together. Always the beach inspires me as well. I grew up on a beach in the Pacific Northwest so stormy moody days and bonfires at night always had a sense of community as well

Tea and knitting, beaches and bonfires, moody days- gosh darn that sounds like paradise.

I'm a northern Minnesota girl. Bon fires have always been a draw with my friends. Sauna, backyard the lake and a roaring fire. It's always been the backyard, I have always been blessed with neighborhood BBQs growing up. And as teenagers, my mum always encouraged us to have dinner parties or picnics at our home. As an adult, I've always made some kind of backyard. I do my best.❤️‍🩹✌️🌞

Tammara, that seriously sounds like my idea of heaven. I tried so hard to move to MN last year. The timing didn’t work, but I am working to that end. Y’all have captured my heart on so many levels. Once my book proposal gets picked up and things thaw, I am hoping to visit this year at a minimum!

I have lived in Minneapolis, Duluth, the north shore and far up in International falls. It's all beautiful. And I've lived outside of Minnesota to find beauty and kindness also. But I'm back for a reason, born in woods and watrt, die in wood and water, as my mum said. And the fight goes on with a song in our hearts.✌️❤️‍🩹⌛️

A place that makes me feel safe and supported is my Stitch 'n Bitch group in a nearby communitycentre. That's because the women are amazing! They are strong, creative, full of humor, great crocheters or knitters and some embroiderers. But if you mean actual spots that inspire, I think, the sea, the dunes, woods and meadows are my inspiration. They give me shapes and colours, but also the peace or tranquility to open my mind to new ideas.

OMG what an awesome name- that sounds like such a dear group of people.

Sounds so fun!!!! I do all those.❤️‍🩹

I completed one of your 100 day challenge a year or so ago it helped me to not limit myself when it comes to prompts that make me uncomfortable.

Debra, I am so glad it was a good stretch. And that you are here joining in this!
