I just recently read about the power of wonder and how it supports human thriving. I'm reading a book called Your Brain on Art: How the Arts Transform Us by Magsamen and Ross. It's fantastic! Also, when I had the chance to visit the UK over twenty years ago, I promise I was jumping for joy inside when I saw sheep in the field! Can't wait to go back one day soon.
I don’t think I could love this any more!!! This totally brings “ 100daysofwonder2025” and
“wakeuptowonder2025” into a new, clearer light!!! Thank you sooooo much!
In Psalm 27:4, David said, “ One thing have I asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to GAZE UPON THE BEAUTY OF THE LORD and to inquire in his temple.”
Well, I totally get it! We were MADE for BEAUTY!!!
So grounding and rewarding to know that the science behind Beauty and Wonder supports the impact of it completely! Terrific feature, Michele. Every morning I take a look out of my window and find something I call a 'Miracle': a new bud that's opened, the light catching the top of a tree, even a plane trail across the sky. Everything in life is miraculous as far as I'm concerned! The way a leaf 'knows' exactly when to unfurl. And air and water - they're extraordinary when you think about them. I'm reading a book about how being outdoors not only heals, but helps us live longer: Take Back your Outside Mindset by @verlafortier. Other great books: Better in Every Sense, Norman Farb and Zindel Segal and My Stroke of Insight, Jill Bolte-taylor.
Thank you I found this post extremely helpful I find that it is easy to be overwhelmed by all the negative news that bombards us daily. Being positive regardless is also in my opinion pointless ( dangerous). One needs to find the balance between realism coupled with proactive planning to position oneself strategically while at the same time being positive about life and your thesis attempts to find that balance. Thank you 🙏🏽
I love looking at wild life, counting deer in a specific wooded area, shafts of light and the wind in the trees. At work I think of these things over a tea to sooth my soul. I also sit with the feeling and gather all the things to let go in one big breath and as I exhale imagine them flying off into the sunset. Writing as become more meaningful, playing with craft supplies as well to visit my younger playful self.
I loved this article - I always enjoy reading about brain science! Can you share the research that you found? I always like to document stuff like that, too!
Thank you for your courage and diligence. Thank you for writing for all of us (there is an 'us' who are deeply blessed and inspired by you). I have a dream,( moreso a deep - won't go away - know I won't be okay until I brave the doing of it - heart wrenching desire to advise & encourage younger women in all things that trip us up which I was too naive to know of but now have in depth experiential credentials) and know it is time. You are lovely and I hope to meet you one day. In the meantime, thank you, thank you, thank you. Your beautiful courage and consistency in offering something pure is compelling me to be brave. May our good God bless you and keep you, may His face shine upon you, may He prove a faithful and abundant provider, and my you be filled with His beyond fathom peace and joy. All my love to you dear Sister DMP. xx L

I love this and your outlook on appreciating nature. I find great inspiration and "brain cleaning" in enjoying my surroundings wherever I am.
