Our 100 Day Project… and the Raccoon in My Attic
100 Days of Wonder 2026 | Week 03: Days 14-21
Welcome to week 3 of 100 Days of Wonder, and the surprise I did not have on my bingo card for 2026. (Or my budget. 😳)
There’s a very expensive weekend boarder in my attic. I found out today that I have a raccoon mama and possibly babies nesting in one of my soffit areas.
Y’all, a raccoon nursery was not on my plan. Let alone the $4,000 it is going to cost to humanely remove her (and babies) and reinforce all of the possible entrances around my house so others don’t come back. As well as completely disinfecting my attic because they can carry a lot of very bad bugs.
I am trying to be mad about it, but she literally looks like this picture, just in my attic. How are they so dang cute? I know they are cagey, potentially dangerous, and not to be messed with… but that face.
She hasn’t been there very long, and everything seems to still be intact, so we just wish her a restful weekend with no additional indoor exploration, no parties, and absolutely NO other visitors.
Wonder doesn’t happen in perfect circumstances. It happens in the middle of everyday life, when a raccoon nests in your attic and your budget gets flipped upside down.
Life is noisy and complicated and stressful and just plain hilarious because I could not make this up.
So I am taking name ideas because she absolutely must be named. Please feel free to put suggestions in the comments.
On our slightly new format…
Because inbox overwhelm is a real thing, I've switched up our format slightly. I am drawing all our prompts from our prompt jar for the week and putting them into a Saturday email like this one. Each day still has its own post and is linked below.
Simply click on the link for the day. And you will be able to comment and converse just like we have been.
This setup also allows you to choose when you interact with the prompts in case you want to answer any in advance. Hopefully this will be easier to plan around and keep track of!
The Daily Prompts: March 07-14
All my love,
