Our One-Word Wonder Prompts for Week 9 of the #100DaysofWonder
Your Art Matters.
Even if no one else sees it. Your art changes things.
It captures beauty and tender moments and generosity and wonder.
Art changes things. Even if we can’t see them.
And more importantly. Art changes us.
Even if it is taking 15 minutes out to sit in a field of wildflowers that other people call weeds.
The cars slowed down turning the corner onto my street as I lay in the grass to get this angle. Why is she taking photos of weeds?
Strange woman crouched almost flat to get her phone just right. What IS the neighborhood coming to?
I mean…. If these are weeds, can I please have more of them?

One Thing I Loved, Learned, & Leaned Into This Week
LOVED: Setting up our Dashboard for Open Studio members. Hand embellishing prints for this week’s art market that has me running 10 directions at once. AND dreaming about some live zoom workshops coming soon.
LEARNED: I’m rusty at turning my art into prints, but only a little. In a vintage cool kinda way. Here are a few of them that are going with me to the art market.
LEANED INTO: Making sleep a priority over productivity. This was an especially hectic week and so will this week. But after that I’m looking for some slower space to create alongside you, respond to all your lovely comments (which I do read!) and work on some additional writing.
03. | Community Corner
Updates & News: The practical things. Announcements. Things to get excited about.
THURSDAY 04/18 is our weekly SHARE & CELEBRATE Thread: It will go live at 12 PM EST and stay open until Saturday afternoon so you can post your favorite work from the week (related to the 100 Days of Wonder). I am setting my alarm this week so I don’t think it is Wednesday on Thursday.
04. | Q & A
What questions do you have about creativity? About how to be more creative? Or maybe something you are struggling with creatively, something that is frustrating? Where are you feeling stuck? How can I help?
Put your questions in the comments. Let’s fill the comment section with all the questions we can and I’ll start answering them as I write and record more mini podcast episodes.
All my love,
PS. Open Studio members your content is coming in a few moments in its very own email. See you there!
My question is how will I continue this wonder-full practice of painting every day without the prompts after day 100? I seriously need ideas for this....
Really great question, Deb! And that's my question too! Prior to the HDW, I would sit down with my paints, brushes and paper and try to find inspiration for something ( anything!) to paint/ create. I'd always thought that should be easy, but I don't find it to be. Sooo, how do you come up with prompts, Michele? Are there favorite things you'd rather paint? Flowers, scenery, animals, etc?
