A garden of JOY, how wonderful. Still journaling away on the 100 days of wonder prompts. It has become a little ritual. Whenever I feel the need to open the journal (each page pre-marked with a word from the 100 days list), I read the word, close my eyes, take a deep breath and then allow the ink to flow and my soul to write. Surprising myself what deep insights I get. Looking forward to add the garden of JOY to the practice. Thank you.
morning Michele, this sounds so much more fun than a 'to do list' and I am looking forward to participating putting my own spin on things as I live in the Southern Hemisphere and we are celebrating spring.
I am drawn to your positive vibe in these times of reflection. On a personal perspective I have thoughts of my Mum her name Joy who passed away a year ago. Then on the broader world perspective which permeates all our thoughts, as the dispare we all feel for the war torn countries seen on our news feeds daily. We do have to retain our sense of Joy at these times. Thankyou for your kindness and wonderful sensitive work.
Diane, that means so much. Thank you for sharing. Also, I'm sorry for your loss.
Somewhat related fun fact. Diane is my first name. My mom loved her name (also Diane) so much she passed it down to me. Hence, me using my middle name, Michele, to avoid confusion. She passed a few years ago, and it is the strangest grief journey I have ever had.
You know my middle name is Joy too. I like you and your Mum's names. Thanks for the generous love and kindness it is so uplifting. Take care and create with much energy today.
I am so excited about this! My website More Joy went live the day before your Joy article was posted last week! Few understand the power of Joy and no one is talking about it that I am aware of besides us! Thank you!
Sittin' by a fire pit on a cool nite, laughing with friends!
“Ode to Joy”
Joy falls
everywhere like crumbs
- into cracks and into crevices,
into corners and into chasms,
until it is forgotten -
or simply buried
between the hard places and the sad,
between
the sweetness of days
and the heaviness of years,
between the twilights and the sunsets
and the moonrises and the rain-
Until it grows,
unbidden... unwatered... untended...
like a weed
that turns
unexpectedly
into a flower. cjc
I have a poem to go along with your theme!!!

You’ll be making joy lists on a big birthday for me - so I’ll be glad to join in later (midnight UK time is a bit late for me…)
Michele, you are a beacon of hope during truly strange times. x
