Getting Started: A Quick Start Guide

UPDATED: 02/18/2024 2:50PM

Hi Creative Friends,

I still am pinching myself that 10,000+ of you are here.

Full Disclosure, I had no idea our journey would go viral. None. I thought a few hundred new friends might see that first reel that has now been seen over a million times. Like whaaaaaat??!?!?!

I am SO glad you are here! Here’s a quick start guide with some basics and commonly asked questions to get you going.

Can I Join the #100DaysofWonder2024 After it Starts?

Our start date, aka Day 1 of 100 was Sunday, February 18, 2024!

Our Weekly Wonder Drop with the next week’s prompts starts sending the day before on Saturday mornings at 8 AM EST.

YES! You can jump in at any time during the 100 Days as a free subscriber. Simply start from the day you are at. There’s no need to catch up, just show up and jump in. At the end of the 100-Days, you can circle back around and complete any of the other prompts you choose.

Read through previously sent prompts and our series of getting-ready tips HERE for more information, inspiration, and all the details you’ll need.

Where’s My Log In? Why Can’t I Log In? Knock, Knock is Anyone Home?

  1. When you go to wonder.dmicheleperry.com, you’ll see a screen like this ⬇️. Click Sign In which I have circled in bright magenta 🖍 😊.

  1. Sometimes, you might see this screen ⬇️ first depending on your browser settings. If you do, click Read before subscribing ✨ and it will take you to the screen above in #1.

  1. When you click Sign In (see #1), you’ll be taken to a page that looks like ⬇️. Put your email in the place it says Email. Then hit the Continue button. Substack will send you a link via email that you can click to sign in. You can also set up a password if you prefer. Click here for the Substack tutorial about how that works.

This log-in process is a Substack quirk. I know it’s a little different. But we think building here is worth it.

Where Are My Emails? Why Haven’t I Heard from You?

You will receive new posts from the time you signed up going forward. You won’t receive posts/emails that were published before you signed up.

But you can find ALL of the relevant #100DaysofWonder2024 content online for the duration of our 100-day time period. Click the link in the button below to be taken to the #100DaysofWonder2024 post list to see what’s happening and catch up with anything new you might have missed.

How Do We Share What We Are Working On & Connect with the Community?

There are several ways to connect and share your work with the community!

  1. ON INSTAGRAM: Post your work as frequently as you like on your Instagram account and use #100daysofwonder2024. We are following that tag and can’t wait to see what you create! You can also connect to the broader 100-Day Project community online by using the global hashtag #the100dayproject

  2. ON SUBSTACK: We will be posting two interactive threads a week.

    1. Our Thursday SHARE & CELEBRATE Thread will open Thursday-Saturday for everyone (free & paid) to post their favorite work from the week (related to the 100 Days of Wonder). You can upload photos right in your post. We will be popping in several times through that period to encourage as many of you as possible, but this is primarily a space for you to connect and encourage one another!

    2. Our CHECK-IN & FEEDBACK Thread stays live for the month for paid Open Studio subscribers and we will check on and engage with it regularly throughout the week.

    3. By responding and engaging in comments on the posts

My Photos Aren’t Loading on the Chat Thread. What Do I Do?

This is most likely because Substack might have gotten busy as a platform or the internet connection you are using is slow or unstable. (It happens sometimes, right?)

Here are some things you can try:

  • Upload smaller pictures in size.

  • Log-out, Log-In, turn yourself around and try that move again.

  • Clear your cache.

  • Clear your browser history.

  • Restart your device.

  • Try back in an hour or so.

Why Can’t I Comment On a Post or Chat Thread?

On chat threads, we only leave chat threads open for designated time periods so our team can provide the level of moderation and engagement each thread requires.

If a post has comments turned off it’s because we want to push conversations to the chat threads or it’s a post just meant to communicate necessary information.

What’s the Posting Schedule for #100daysofwonder2024?

  • SATURDAYS at 8 AM, EST: The Weekly Wonder Drop & Open Studio Extended Content gets sent. The Weekly Wonder Drop is for everyone and includes notes and thoughts of encouragement from yours truly, project updates, and the prompts for the next week.

  • The CHECK-IN & FEEDBACK CHAT thread will go live for our paid subscribers and stay open for 3-4 weeks. This is a place for works in progress, questions, and general feedback.

  • THURSDAYS: the SHARE AND CELEBRATE CHAT thread will open Thursday-Saturday for everyone (free & paid) to post their favorite work from the week (related to the 100 Days of Wonder).

We will be popping in several times through that period to encourage as many of you as possible, but this is primarily a space for you to connect, meet new friends, and encourage one another!

  • The only thing we ask is to keep it kind and supportive and respect people’s intellectual property. It isn’t the place for critiques, just celebration. 🎉

Take Commissions? Have Classes?

Yes to all three—but usually not at the same time. 😉 If you’d like to receive emails about new art collections, studio news, classes, and commission availability, you can jump on my Studio Insiders list but hitting the button below and dropping in your details.
