I enjoy writing a lot and have kept journals throughout my teens and my early twenties and then stopped writing too, as family life got busy, this combined with work life and making ends meet left me exhausted to even hold a pen, let alone open a notebook to write in. It's only in recent years that I have started to write more regularly. Your article today hits home and I recognise myself in it in places. I am trying hard to build new habits or small rituals that focus on gathering my thoughts, staying in the moment and having a gadget free time. I too have begun to delete apps that don't longer serve me, protect my mornings and stay off the phone for the first hour after wakening, to help to regulate my nervous system. (Doesn't work every morning, but I am getting really good at it). I love your Hobbit Hole Mode on your phone and will implement this too (sorry for copying your idea, but it's brilliant). Thanks again for bringing this out into the open and give food for thoughts. Much appreciated. Kerstin D.
Thank you for this article today I'm currently working on losing some weight and I had been looking for some inspirational (physical), books on the subject. I did find some that I think will help, but I decided also to write about the process and document my journey with paper and pencil. Your writing today has come at just the right time for me and for this journey. I've written down the quote you gave from Sue Monk Kidd at the top of today's page. It is one I'll go back to. I'm generally a happy person but my weight is the one thing that has been stealing my happiness and I am now going to claim that happiness back.
